An evening like tonight is why I love Paris. I went to the magnificent Hôtel de Talleyrand, an 18th century "hôtel particulier" (private residence) located on the Place de la Concorde, for an event sponsored by the Arts Arena with singer, songwriter and composer Rufus Wainwright. The director of Arts Arena interviewed him and I found him to be smart, charming and totally delightful. His second opera, Hadrian, premieres this fall in Canada.

Constructing amusements and rides for the summer....took me back 15 years when we were here with our boys staying across the street at Hotel du Louvre and all they wanted to do was play the games of chance and ride the rides!
